1: Noc Engineer (5 Positions)
Location:Â Dar es Salaam
Experience:Â 0-3 years
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or equivalent in IT, Networks, Telecoms, or Computer Science.
- Strong practical experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
- 0-3 years of experience in IT Operations, NOC, DevOps Support, or Systems Monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring platforms and ITSM/ticketing tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, ServiceNow, JIRA, or equivalent.
Core Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor GSOC platforms and dashboards, including Grafana, ServiceNow, and related tools, to ensure service availability, performance, and operational stability.
- Track service health indicators, performance baselines, trends, and threshold breaches across all countries within the hub’s monitoring perimeter.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate anomalies, service degradations, and incidents affecting applications, infrastructure, or network services.
- Interpret monitoring alerts and Prometheus metrics to assess service impacts and determine whether performance levels are within acceptable thresholds.
- Create, categorize, prioritize, and assign incident tickets in ServiceNow in accordance with established incident management procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely ticket updates throughout the incident lifecycle, documenting actions taken, investigation findings, and escalation activities.
- Apply the correct incident classification and root cause categories to ensure quality reporting, trend analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Kibana and other log analysis tools to search, filter, and review logs for troubleshooting and incident investigation purposes.
- Operate as the designated shift operator when required, managing incidents within assigned authority levels and adhering to defined escalation protocols.
- Coordinate and escalate major or concurrent incidents to Senior Operators and relevant support teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate incident status, service impacts, and critical updates clearly to stakeholders and support teams throughout the shift.
- Prepare detailed shift handover reports, including open tickets, ongoing incidents, active alerts, actions taken, and key follow-up items to ensure seamless operational continuity.
Core Competencies
- Experience with Grafana dashboards, metrics analysis, and trend monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of Prometheus metrics, labels, and performance indicators.
- Ability to use Kibana for log searches, filtering, and incident investigation.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow incident management and ticket handling.
- Understanding of OSI model fundamentals and TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Familiarity with observability concepts, including metrics, logs, and traces.
- Basic Linux command-line skills and the ability to follow operational runbooks.
2: Hub Team Lead
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or engineering school qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in NOC, IT Operations, Telecom, or Fintech.
- Proven leadership experience in incident management, operations, and KPI governance.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and govern 24/7 operations across Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie shifts, ensuring compliance with shift management and handover processes.
- Ensure accurate shift handovers, roster management, leave coverage, and operational readiness across the hub.
- Act as the primary escalation point for major incidents, owning P1 incident management, resolution coordination, and stakeholder escalation.
- Enforce incident response protocols and coordinate cross-hub support during high-severity or multiple concurrent incidents.
- Oversee operational KPI reporting, including Platform Availability, Transaction Success Rate, MTTD, TTR, MTTR, and Detection Quality Ratio.
- Monitor incident trends and on-call activation metrics, escalating operational capacity concerns when required.
- Manage GSOC monitoring tools, platform configurations, and adherence to operational processes and governance standards.
- Drive cross-hub operational alignment, process compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate process deviations, operational risks, and unresolved issues to GSOC leadership within agreed timelines.
- Lead and manage the performance of Senior Operators and NOC Operators, ensuring high operational standards.
- Govern onboarding, training, and shift-readiness of new operators in line with established operational requirements.
- Support career development and succession planning, maintaining progression pathways from NOC Operator to Senior Operator and Hub Team Lead roles.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ITIL incident, problem, and change management.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow ticketing, workflows, and reporting.

3: Senior Noc Engineer (2 Positions)Â

- 4-8 years of experience in NOC, L2 Support, or DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, incident ownership, and shift leadership in a high-availability environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee assigned shifts, including Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie, ensuring operational effectiveness, team performance, and quality service delivery.
- Review and approve shift handovers, ensuring all open incidents, active alerts, and operational activities are accurately transferred between shifts.
- Maintain on-call readiness during designated shifts and provide incident leadership during major or concurrent service disruptions.
- Coordinate incident communications, escalation notifications, supplier engagement, and stakeholder updates in line with operational procedures.
- Own and manage escalated incidents, conducting detailed investigations and troubleshooting before further escalation to higher support levels.
- Perform advanced analysis using Kibana, Grafana, and related monitoring tools to identify root causes, service anomalies, performance trends, and potential risks.
- Translate technical issues into business impact assessments and provide clear operational updates to management and stakeholders.
- Manage supplier escalations, ensuring timely resolution, effective tracking, and post-incident follow-up activities.
- Proactively monitor services, validate alert effectiveness, and recommend improvements to monitoring thresholds, detection quality, and observability capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying monitoring gaps, contributing to supervision architecture, and enhancing operational processes.
- Apply observability best practices by correlating technical performance indicators with business service outcomes and customer experience metrics.
- Coach and support NOC Operators through structured feedback, operational guidance, onboarding support, and performance improvement recommendations.
