1: Volunteer – Epidemiologist Assistant

JOB PURPOSE
Assist in the coordination of all project activities including planning, implementation, and review and reporting to CDC, coordination of partners and MOH in all matters associate with strengthening data management, utilization and use in regions supported by project in both Tanzanian Mainland and Zanzibar.
Daily mentoring of surveillance officers on EBS activities at community levels in Kagera region; strengthen management of alert desk in Kagera Kigoma and Mwanza regions; support implementations of regional EBS mini regional plans in collaboration with the regional and council health management teams for sustainability of project after phaseout.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Field epidemiology and Laboratory management or Equivalent Field.
- Knowledge in Development of scientific papers and epidemiological surveys.
- Expert in busy Epidemiological settings and handling disease outbreaks and other Public Health Events of International Concern with 5 years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in computer (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access) including Internet, Intranet, browsing skills and Strong presentation skills.
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in Event Based Surveillance, deep knowledge of public health and related subjects.
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in training, supervising and mentoring others in the profession including non- health personnel.
Languages
- Swahili and English.
2: Epidemiology Officer

- Advanced university degree in Epidemiology, preferably Field Epidemiology
- Knowledge of Development of scientific papers and epidemiological surveys
- Minimum of 3 years in a busy Epidemiological settings and handling disease outbreaks and other Public Health Events of International Concern
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in computer (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access) including Internet, Intranet, browsing skills and Strong presentation skills
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in Event Based Surveillance, deep knowledge of public health and related subjects
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in training, supervising and mentoring others in the profession including non- health personnel.
