1: CLINICAL OFFICER (1 Position(s))
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Clinical Officer who will be stationed at Dar es Salaam Office under JaundiceCARE, reporting to Principal Investigator. The Clinical Officer will provide clinical and implementation leadership for the JaundiceCARE project across the three participating hospitals.
The Clinical Officer will coordinate the introduction and implementation of innovative neonatal jaundice screening and management interventions, including the Picterus Jaundice Pro application, strengthening health worker capacity, improving quality of care, and generating implementation evidence to inform national scale-up.
The Clinical Officer will serve as the primary liaison between the project team and the participating hospitals to ensure consistent implementation of project activities and achievement of the project. The successful candidate shall be required to start immediately.

2: LABORATORY SCIENTIST (1 Position(s))
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Laboratory Scientist who will be under the NMBiS Project to support the implementation of the Remnant Sample Mapping Study across selected regions in Tanzania Mainland.
The successful candidate will report to the Project Coordinator, the candidate will be responsible for conducting facility assessments, evaluating biological sample storage conditions, documenting sample inventories, assessing specimen quality indicators, supporting data collection activities, and contributing to study reporting.
The position requires an individual with strong laboratory and research experience, knowledge of specimen management systems, and familiarity with biological sample storage and quality assurance procedures.
- Bachelor degree in laboratory sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Public Health Laboratory Sciences, or related field from a recognized institution.
- At least two (2) years of experience in laboratory research, specimen management, biobanking, or public health biomedical research.
- Experience working with biological specimens including serum, plasma, whole blood, dried blood spots (DBS), and urine samples.
- Experience in field-based research and health facility assessments will be an added advantage.
- Experience with electronic data collection systems such as ODK, KoBotool or similar platforms is desirable.
- Fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
3: MEDICAL ATTENDANT (8 Position(s))
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Medical Attendant (s) who will be under NMBiS Project to support the implementation of the Remnant Sample Mapping Study.
Medical Attendat will be responsible for conducting facility assessments, administering structured questionnaires, supporting key informant interviews, documenting laboratory and storage infrastructure, and collecting high-quality data using electronic data capture systems and transcribing the filed interviews to transcripts.
Successful candidates will work closely with project technical team, laboratory personnel, facility managers, and research teams to gather information on biological sampleinventories, storage conditions, metadata availability, and sample management practices.

- Recent graduates with strong academic records and relevant field experience and ethical principles in application are encouraged to apply.

4: RESEARCH OFFICER (2 Position(s))
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Research Officer who will be stationed at Dar es Salaam Office to support Map EA Node Project, reporting to the Senior Research Scientist .
The Research Officer will play a significant and strategic role of continuously assisting core researchers improving the data science capability while contributing to the development of analytical models, preparation of input data, deployment of workflows, and dissemination of results, including writing reports, papers for peer reviewed publication, poster preparations and engaging with relevant collaborators.
The ROs in addition to playing the supporting role, are expected to lead, design and implement small projects with deliverables contributing to the overall objective and scope of MAP project. Applicants from Africa, especially females and those

- Excellent levels of numeracy as evidenced through your experience and/or education with the ability to use numerical analysis methods and perform computations.

- An understanding of the epidemiology of vector-borne diseases such as malaria and other infectious diseases, public health.

- Experience in managing, analyzing, interpreting, wrangling and manipulating data using a variety of software platforms; Skills on use of R software is essential for this role.
- Experience in development and/or delivering training for different audiences.
- Experience of working with spatial data and geometry files using GIS tools.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in the English language.
- Knowledge of other languages including French, Spanish, Portuguese is an advantage.
