Scholarship Opportunities at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) 2026/2027, The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in collaboration with Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) invites applications for one Master’s partial scholarships at UDSM under the COSTECH-funded research project:

“Promoting Adaptive Management for Agricultural Water to Enhance Community Resilience Under Climate Change in the Kagera River Sub-Basin”.

The scholarship is linked to Objective 4 of the project, which focuses on enhancing community awareness regarding future climate conditions and agricultural water availability (adaptive management of agricultural water).

Call for Applications for Master’s Partial Scholarship (Research Fund Award)

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in collaboration with Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) invites applications for one Master’s partial scholarships at UDSM under the COSTECH-funded research project:

“Promoting Adaptive Management for Agricultural Water to Enhance Community Resilience Under Climate Change in the Kagera River Sub-Basin”.

The scholarship is linked to Objective 4 of the project, which focuses on enhancing community awareness
regarding future climate conditions and agricultural water availability (adaptive management of agricultural water).

The scholarship is tenable at UDSM for 9 months and covers research-related expenses (e.g., fieldworks) only.

It does not cover tuition fees, university fees, accommodation or living stipend.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit:

• A cover letter for the application;

• A statement of purpose (max. one page);

• A max. of 2-pages signed Curriculum Vitae;

• Certified copies of Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript;

• Proof of admission to UDSM & valid student ID;

• A research concept notes (2 pages max,  excluding a maximum of 5 references) focusing on: statement of the research problem, main and specific objectives, research questions, rationale of the proposed study area & the methodological approach, including fieldwork considerations;

• Two recommendation letters from either ansupervisor or a senior professional in anrelevant field, each including the referee’snphone number and email address.

Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria Submission

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

• A citizen of Tanzania, aged 35 or below;

• Admitted and registered in the Master’s Program in the areas of Economics, Agricultural Economics
and Business, Applied Economics or related program at UDSM;

• Completed the coursework or in proposal development stage;

• Attained a minimum GPA of 3.5 in undergraduate degree (Economics; Economics and Statistics; Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Economics and Business).
