Mwl. Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Masters’ Degree Scholarship Guidelines

It supports outstanding Tanzanian students pursuing higher education in priority fields that contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

It is an academic merit- based scholarship through a rigorous and transparent selection process.

In view of the above, HESLB has been mandated to announce and receive Master’s degree applications for the Scholarship.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

All applicants for the academic year 2026/2027 are required to observe the following:

(i) Read and follow the application procedures stated in theseGuidelines,

(ii) Ensure that all application documents are approved by relevant authorities,

(iii) The applicant should provide his/her registered and reachablemobile phone number. The provided mobile phone number will be used to inform the applicant on the scholarship application progress,

(iv) Applicants must review the entire application form and make corrections (where necessary) before submission,

(v) All applicants must strictly observe the loan application deadline, and

(vi) For any identified forgery, the applicant will be disqualified from the whole application process and subject him/her to other necessary legal actions.

APPLICATION WINDOW

The application window for the academic year 2026/2027 opens on 5th September, 2026 to 5th October, 2026.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must satisfy the following: –

(i) Be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania,

(ii) Not be more than thirty-five (35) years of age at the time of application,

(iii) Have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or Upper Second Class Honours) or an Advanced Diploma, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 or equivalent classification, from an
accredited institution within the United Republic of Tanzania,

(iv) Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or Finance,

(v) Be admitted to pursue a Master’s degree in any of the following Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or Finance,

(vi)  Not be a beneficiary of any other form of sponsorship, and

(vii) Have applied for or obtained admission into a full-time master’s degree program at an accredited university within Tanzania, commencing in the 2026/2027 Academic Year in one of the eligible fields mentioned in (v) above.

RELEVANT DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Applicants must submit the following: –

(i) Current national physical address (NaPA) issued by the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology,

(ii) National Identification Number (NIN), as reflected on the applicant’s NIDA card,

(iii) Birth certificate verification code approved by RITA (Mainland

(iv) Tanzania) or ZCSRA (Zanzibar), OR a letter from RITA or ZCSRA to validate the applicant’s birth information for those born abroad,

(v) Tanzania) or ZCSRA (Zanzibar), OR a letter from RITA or ZCSRA to validate the applicant’s birth information for those born abroad,

(vi) Employer’s release letter to pursue full-time studies (for employed applicants),

(vii) Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma Certificate, Official Academic Transcript, and Admission Letter or Proof of Admission.

ITEMS FINANCED UNDER THE SCHOLARSHIP

Successful applicants are granted a full scholarship covering all university direct costs (tuition fees, etc.) and student direct costs (meals, accommodation, books and stationery allowance, field practical
training, special faculty requirements, etc.) as specified in the respective institution’s cost structure

MODE OF APPLICATION

Applicantsmustcomplete the online scholarship application through OLAMS within the prescribed deadline.
