The main objective of the project is not only reducing dependence on sugar imports and attaining self-sufficiency, but also producing surplus sugar for export. It is the first time that this project is being implemented in Tanzania at this scale.
The sugar plant is being supplied by Thyssenkrupp India Pvt Ltd, a German company based in India and the farm is supported for irrigation using state-of-the-art digital farm technology, from Netafim, an Israeli-based company.
The project implementation is going on as per schedule to start commercial production by mid-2022. In phase 1 of the project, it is estimated to produce about 30,000 tonnes of sugar.

1: WTP Operator
Job Description
We are looking to hire a WTP Operator to operate water treatment equipment, monitor water quality parameters, conduct routine inspections and maintenance, record operational data, troubleshoot problems, and ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals at Bagamoyo Sugar Limited in Bagamoyo.
Responsibilities
Operate water treatment equipment such as filters, softeners, clarifiers, and chemical dosing systems.
Monitor water quality parameters (pH, TDS, hardness, chlorine, etc.) and adjust treatment processes accordingly.
Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of WTP equipment.
Record operational data including flow rates, chemical consumption, and equipment performance.
Troubleshoot operational problems and report major faults to the supervisor.
Ensure proper storage and handling of water treatment chemicals.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the plant area.
Follow safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for water treatment efficiency.
Requirements
Proven working experience of at least one year in the field
Proficiency in English and Kiswahili is required.
Ability to communicate operational
Diploma in Water treatment technology, laboratory technology, Chemical and process/plant operations or relevant field.
2: Assistant Store Keeper
Job Description
We are looking to hire an Assistant Store Keeper in Bagamoyo. This role involves ensuring material quality and quantity, maintaining records, receiving materials, initiating purchase requisitions, issuing materials, and preparing daily and monthly reports.
