15 Job Opportunities at Geita Municipal Council March 2026, Geita Town Council is located between 1,100 and 1,300 meters above sea level. It is also located between 2o8 and 3o28 degrees south of the Equator and 32o45 and 37o east of Greenwich. Geita Town Council borders Geita District Council, Sengerema District and Nyang’hwale District and has an area of 1080 square kilometers.3 Geita Town Council obtained the status of a Council after following all legal procedures and being published in the Government Gazette No. 280 of 24 August 2012 and the Certificate of Registration was issued on 5 September 2012.
The law used to approve the Authority and area of the Town Council is Act No. 8 of 1982. Before becoming a full Council, it was the Geita Town Authority which was under the Geita District Council following a notice in the Government Gazette No. 353 of 17 September 2004. The headquarters of the Council is located in Geita town in Magogo Street, on the main road from Mwanza to Bukoba.

1.0 DRIVER II – 5 Positions
1.1 JOB DUTIES
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety status of the vehicle;
ii. Taking employees to various locations on business trips;
iii. Carrying out minor vehicle repairs;
iv. Filling and maintaining all trip information in the trip log;
v. Collecting and distributing various documents; and
vi. Cleaning the vehicle;
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
Employees must have a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license that they have worked for at least one (1) year without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant grades. Must have attended a Basic Driving Course provided by VETA College or another College recognized by the Government.

2.1 JOB DUTIES
Operate machinery under the supervision of an experienced Plant Operator.
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
Employees with a Form Four certificate who have a Class “G” license to operate Machinery and knowledge of maintaining various equipment of the machinery, with experience of operating machinery for a period of not less than three years without causing an accident.

3.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – Position 2
3.1 JOB DUTIES
i. Type letters, reports and regular and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving visitors and listening to their problems and directing them where they can be helped;
iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, meeting dates, trips of the Head and other work schedules;
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the implementation of work duties;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;
vi. .Collecting, maintaining and returning files and documents to the relevant departments;
vii. Organizing notes and making preparations for various meetings;
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements; andix. Performing other tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
3.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Form Four or Form Six graduates with a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies will be recruited.
In addition, they should have passed the Kiswahili and English Typing 80 words per minute (80.wp.m) subject and received training in office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any university recognized by the Government.

4.1 JOB DUTIES
i. Register incoming correspondence in the registry

iii. Distribute files to action officers

vi. Returning files to racks/filling cabinets or other storage locations.
4.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS:
