1: Foreman – Mine: Development

Responsibilities

Ensure the development operation meets safety targets through support of the lead indicator systems and enforcement of standard operating procedure.
Ensure the development operation meets targets through support of the planning systems, particularly daily, weekly and monthly development planning and reporting.
Ensure the development plan is followed by the team and ensure compliance is achieved.
Provide leadership and support to the Continuous Improvement program and Training group, who report to this position.
Plan and coordinate daily activities, manage schedules, and allocate resources to meet development goals. This involves coordinating with different teams, including development supervisors, mine engineers and engineering.
Complete and sign daily shift reports, keep accurate records of inspections, and provide required data to management.
Provide leadership and direct development shift supervisors on execution of daily activities.
Ensure site personnel have job relevant training requirements which are entered on site personnel training register.
Ensuring compliance with industry codes of practice and standards, as well as environmental and community relations policies.

Qualification requirements

Tertiary or ordinary secondary education.
Having a valid blasting certificate as per Tanzania regulations and or act(s).
Having a valid driving license.
A degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering will be of added advantage.

2: UG Development Manager

Qualification requirements

A degree in Mining Engineering
Well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with People of diverse cultures and levels.

Experience and Competencies needed

At least five (10) years’ experience in underground development Management role.
Experience and knowledge on development operations.
Experience in multiple mining regions, and mining methodologies.
Knowledge and understanding of reading Mining plans and ability to follow specifications.

3: Safety Officer

Qualification requirements

Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Occupational Health System (OHS)
NOSHC certificate/NEBOSH Certificate
Certificate III/IV on Occupational Health and Safety

Experience and competencies needed.

Minimum of 3 years mining experience on Mining operations both Open Pit and Underground.
Decisiveness.
Ability to hold other employees accountable.
Able to show initiative and take responsibility for safety programs.
Working knowledge of Safety and Health Management Systems and ISO 45001:2018.
Experience in accident /incident investigation and reporting.
Sound understanding of Process Safety management systems
Possession of valid Tanzania driver’s license and having Driver’s competency.
Ability to implement plans and achieve goals.
Ability to interact with other departments, contractors, Project Managers, and safety personnel.
Possession of good written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili languages.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Outlook.
Resilience and resourcefulness.

4: Jumbo Operator

Qualification requirements

College or technical training equivalent to 2 years of study
Ability to read and understand designed ground support plans
Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of jumbo rigs
Must demonstrate good oral / written communication skills in English
Team Player and result oriented
Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness

Experience and Competencies needed.

8 -10 years of experience as a Jumbo Trainer/ Operator preferable under expatriate conditions
Excellent knowledge and experience with Tamrock 2009 Axera Twin Boom Jumbos
Proven previous experience in Underground Mining
Previous supervisory/Trainer experience
Understanding of basic Underground Mines Health & Safety Act
Knowledge on Underground Mining operations
