Funded Chevening Scholarships in the United Kingdom 2027/2028, The Internationalization and Convocation Unit is pleased to inform MUHAS staff, alumni, students, and other eligible applicants of the opportunity to apply for the Chevening Scholarships 2027/2028, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations.
The scholarship supports outstanding professionals from Chevening-eligible countries, including Tanzania, to pursue a fully funded one-year Master’s degree at eligible universities across the United Kingdom. The programme aims to develop future leaders, decision-makers, and influencers who will contribute to the development of their home
countries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
I. Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory, including Tanzania.
II. Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for admission to a UK Master’s programme.
III. Have completed at least 2,800 hours of post-graduation work experience before submitting the application. Eligible experience may include full-time employment, part-time employment, paid or unpaid internships, and volunteer work completed after graduation.
IV. Apply to three eligible one-year taught Master’s degree programmes at UK universi
V. Demonstrate leadership potential, networking skills, and a commitment to contributing t
development of their home country.
VI. Agree to return to their home country for a minimum of two years upon completion of the scholarship.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides:
I. Full university tuition fees.
II. Monthly living allowance.
III. Economy-class return airfare to and from the United Kingdom.
IV. UK visa application fee.
V. Arrival and departure allowances.
VI. Travel grant for approved academic activities.
VII. Tuberculosis testing support (up to £75 where required).
VIII. Access to leadership development activities and networking events.
IX. Membership in the global Chevening Alumni Network.
Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants may choose from a wide range of eligible one-year taught Master’s programmes across diverse academic disciplines, as outlined on the official Chevening website.

Select three eligible one-year Master’s degree programmes at UK universities.
Prepare the required scholarship essays and supporting information.
