Job Vacancies at KCMC University July 2026, The KCMC University is a newly full-fledged University owned by the Good Samaritan Foundation. The University trains health professionals for various University awards in clinical, biomedical and allied health sciences.

It currently wishes to recruit competent and committed human resources to fill the following vacancies for Academic and Administrative positions, See advert below.

1.0 ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

1.1 Principal Estates Management Officer Grade I (1 Post)

(i) Educational Qualifications

Possession of a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Estates Management, Property and Facilities Management, Real Estate Management, Building Engineering, Building Survey, Land Management and Valuation or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution, with at least twelve (12) years working experience in a related position.

(ii) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

i. Basic working knowledge in estates or facilities management

ii. Good organization, time management, prioritizing and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload.

iii. Oral and written communication and influencing skills

iv. Analytical and problem-solving skills

v. Decision-making skills

vi. The ability to lead and manage teams and projects

vii. Attention to detail

viii. Commercial awareness

ix. Customer service skills

(iii) Duties and Responsibilities

i. Provide technical guidance and advice on estates management issues.

ii. Assist in planning, organizing, and controlling estates maintenance activities.

iii. Develop and implement the overall strategy for estates management, ensuring it aligns with institutional goals.

iv. Develop and review policies and procedures related to estates management, ensuring they are effective and compliant with regulations.

v. Assist in coordinating maintenance and rehabilitation of physical infrastructure and assets.

vi. Assist in the preparation and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, including building modifications and alterations.

vii. Participate in preparing sketches and plans for minor alterations.

viii. Prepare programmes for the general improvement of landscaping.

ix. Assist in the administration of University assets, and ensure proper allocation and utilization of facilities and equipment.

x. Prepare and compile budget estimates for capital development.

xi. Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.

xii. Prepare and submit technical reports, and assist in preparing projects’ progress reports.

xiii. Supervise and guide junior staff, as well as coordinate with other departments and external contractors.

xiv. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and contractors, providing feedback and coaching.

xv. Overseeing management of major projects.

xvi. Ensure that all aspects of estates management are conducted to the highest standards of quality and efficiency, conform to design specifications and applicable requirements.

xvii. Coordinate with external construction firms and manage contracts and represent the University’s estates management interests to external stakeholders, including government agencies, consultants, and the public.

xviii. Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Estates Management or other senior University officials.

1.2 Principal Planning and Investment Officer Grade I (1 Post)

(i) Educational Qualifications

Appointment of a holder of Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any of the following fields: Planning, Project Planning and Management, Finance and Investment, Development Planning and Management,

Planning and Investment, Educational Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other equivalent qualifications, with at least twelve (12) years’ work experience in a senior position in the planning and investment
directorate/department/unit of a recognized university/institution.

(ii) Duties and Responsibilities of Principal Planning and Investment Officer

a. Planning Functions

i. Assist in managing and monitoring the implementation of the Corporate Strategic Plan and other

ii. strategic plans of the University.

iii. Participate in the evaluation of the Corporate Strategic Plan.

iv. Develop and review annual rolling strategic plans.

v. Prepare mid-term and annual reports of the Corporate Strategic Plan.

vi. Coordinate the preparation of the University Annual Report.

vii. Develop methodology for data collection on various aspects of University operational programmes.

viii. Collect and systematically compiled data on University activities.

ix. Evaluate operational costs of University programmes using standard indicators.

x. Make projections based on processed data on the staff and students population of the University.

xi. Supervise the preparation of the budget of the Directorate of Planning and Investment.

xii. Assist in ensuring that activities of the Directorate are carried out as per annual work plan.

xiii. Perform any other related duties as assigned by Director of Planning and Investment or other competent University Authority.

b. Investment Functions

i. Participate in developing and reviewing investment strategies.

ii. Prepare investment plans and project documents.

iii. Follow-up on the implementation of the approved investments.

iv. Monitoring the performance of the approved investment and prepare reports on their progress.

v. Assess the risks associated with the University’s investments.

vi. Participate in conducting research on investment opportunities.

vii. Perform any other related duties as assigned by Director of Planning and Investment or other
viii. competent University Authority.

c. Resource Mobilization Functions

i. Assist in monitoring the implementation of the Resource Mobilization Strategy.

ii. Prepare proposals for mobilizing funds and other resources for the University.

iii. Plan and establishing income-generating activities/projects.

iv. Follow-up on the approved University’s income-generating activities and prepare progress report.

v. Identify funding opportunities and avenues.

vi. Develop and maintain University’s donor or partner profiles.

vii. Assist in training and sensitizing all University staff on resource mobilization.

viii. Participate in publicity events, discussions, meetings and dialogue with various stakeholders in mobilizing resources for the University.

ix. Perform any other related duties as assigned by Director of Planning and Investment or other competent University Authority.

2.0 REMUNERATION FOR THE POSITIONS

Competitive and attractive package of salary and fringe benefits will be offered to the successful candidates commensurate with their qualifications and work experience, and in accordance with the KCMC University Schemes of Service, and Staff Regulations and Conditions of Service.
