The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) is a corporate body established pursuant to NACTVET Act, Cap. 129, to coordinate and regulate the provision of technical and vocational education and training.
The Council regulates an efficient national qualifications system that will ensure that products from technical and vocational institutions are of high quality and respond to changing needs as well as technological innovations in the world.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training in this context is defined as “Education and training undertaken by students to equip them to play roles requiring higher levels of skills, knowledge and understanding and in which they take responsibility for their areas of specialization”.
NACTVET is thus, a multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral body empowered to oversee and coordinate the provision of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Tanzania.
NACTVET Admissions for Certificate and Diploma March Intake 2026
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) would like to inform the public that the admission of students at the Diploma and Certificate levels for all courses, except Health courses in Tanzania Mainland, has commenced on 10th February, 2026 and will be completed on 28th February 2026.
This admission applies to institutions registered, certified and approved by the Council to have the capacity to admit students. All Secondary Education graduates as well as graduates of institutions with qualifications to join the Diploma and Certificate courses are advised to submit their applications directly to the institutions of their choice.
Selected applicants will be submitted to NACTVET for verification. The Council directs institutions to ensure that they comply with the rules, regulations and procedures for admission, as well as to follow the Admission Calendar available on the Council’s website.
Furthermore, the Council reminds applicants to ensure that they apply to colleges that are registered and approved by the Council to admit students in the March, 2026 semester.
